On the afternoon of October 29, the college held a special learning and exchange meeting for the Party Committee’s Theoretical Learning Center Group at the Changqing campus to learn General Secretary Xi Jinping’s reply to all teachers and students of Ocean University of China. Among them, members of the college party committee attended the meeting, with the party secretary Sun Zhongzhi presided over the meeting. Besides, Cui Xiaojing, Vice President of the Provincial Institute of Human Resources and Social Security Sciences, Li Xiaoling, Technical Talent Evaluation and Management Service Department of the Provincial Public Employment and Talent Service Center, members of the Teaching Assistance Youth Theory Learning Group, members of the Double High Plan Work Special Class, as well as teaching leaders, professional leaders, and representatives of backbone teachers from various departments also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, all members of the central group learned about General Secretary Xi Jinping’s reply to all teachers and students of Ocean University of China through watching a video. Furthermore, the relevant experts were invited by the meeting to give a report titled Implementing the Spirit of the National Education Conference and Striving to Create a Double High Professional Group.
In his speech, Sun Zhongzhi pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized in his reply that it was needed to take scientific and technological development and national strategic needs as the driving force, and improve the mechanism for adjusting disciplinary settings and talent training models, thus further pointing out the direction for us to promote high-quality development of education. Therefore, we could have a deeper understanding of the spirit of the National Education Conference, a clearer grasp of the requirements of the Double High Plan, and a clearer idea for the construction of high-level professional groups through the expert’s report. The construction project of the national “Double High Plan” was a key opportunity for the development of schools, as well as a challenge they faced. Because the National Education Conference emphasized the importance of building an educational powerhouse and promoting educational reform and development, the “New Double High” plan was not only an important reform measure in the field of vocational education, but also a concrete practice to implement the spirit of the National Education Conference. Furthermore, only by adhering to the demand driven approach and serving the national strategy; focusing on high-quality development and enhancing educational capabilities; deepening the integration of industry and education and innovating talent training models; strengthening the cultivation of moral character and nurturing well-rounded talents would be highly in line with the spirit of the National Education Conference, which also had profound significance for improving the quality of school education and cultivating more high-quality technical and skilled talents.
It is our collective aspiration that all party members and cadres should join efforts and maintain a profound sense of responsibility and mission. By deeply implementing the spirit of the National Education Conference, and guided by demand, it is needed to focus on high-quality development goals, and deepen the integration of industry and education reform. Only by strengthening the task of cultivating morality and talents, and tirelessly carrying out the application work for the new round of the national “Double High Plan”, can we ensure that every task can be efficiently promoted according to the established goals, so as to inject new vitality and motivation into vocational education.
