The final competition of the men’s B-group category in the 17th Shandong Province University Sports Meeting football competition commenced on October 21. Our college’s men’s soccer team triumphed, and won the championship, while our women’s soccer team proudly secured the runner-up position in the same category.
Shandong Labor Vocational and Technical College emerged victorious against Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology with a score of 2:1 in the men’s soccer team semi-finals. In the final match, our college faced Taishan College of Science and Technology and secured a 1:0 win to claim the championship title. Besides, the women’s soccer team also achieved a significant 5:0 victory against Shandong Medical College in the fifth round and was awarded the runner-up position based on the points system.
This edition of the University Sports Meeting featured 11 disciplines including athletics, swimming, football, basketball, volleyball, handball, aerobic gymnastics, and martial arts. The competitions were divided into three divisions: Group A, Group B, and Group C. Over 130 colleges from across the province participated, with more than 10,000 athletes joined in the event.
Under the leadership of coaches Hou Chenguang and Ji Guangfan, the college football team underwent rigorous training prior to the competition. Therefore, they demonstrated unity, progress, and a strong fighting spirit, and ultimately achieved a historic and outstanding performance during the competition.
The Shandong Provincial University Sports Meeting represents the highest standard, largest scale, strongest competitive level, widest social attention, and most significant radiating influence of any student sports event in the province. Organized by the Shandong Provincial Education Department and the Shandong Administration of Sports, and hosted by the Shandong School Sports Association, this event showcases the spirited and upward demeanor of vocational college students in the new era, as well as their tenacious and brave fighting style. It is believed that in the days to come, this vibrant and passionate football team will continue to write their own legend on the green field and bring more honor and glory to the college.
